AXA IM – Real Assets creates global role for PGGM’s Bagijn

AXA Investment Managers – Real Assets has appointed Ruulke Bagijn as global head of real assets private equity and a member of its management board.

The role has been created to allow the company to enter into new investment activities and Bagijn will be expected to create a strategy covering both equity infrastructure and equity investment opportunities in real assets.

She will head the teams responsible for those sub-asset classes. Based in Paris, Ruulke Bagijn will report to Pierre Vaquier, chief executive AXA IM – Real Assets.

She joins from PGGM, the second-largest pension fund manager in the Netherlands, where since 2011 she was co-chief investment office investment management and chief investment officer private markets.

She held direct responsibility for managing investments into infrastructure, hedge funds, structured credit, private equity, insurance linked securities and private real estate, totalling €40bn.
